Valentines Day

My mom gives me candy and I love her.

Fruit!

I have a feeling the people at Kinkos hate me, or are going to once I continue this series with bananas and raspberry's and kiwi.

Fishing Box

This is a small fishing lour box that belonged to my uncle Russie.  Some how while using the color photocopier I made one black and white print come out (some people call me a brainiac).  I was much more excited about the color print matched up with the black and white than it alone.  I mess everything up a bit, so it is nice to know that I can make something out of it.
"Long gone"

Foil!

My mother sends me candy  every year for Valentines and Easter.  My favorite part is the foil.  If you have looked at any of my older posts I am sure you will notice that it shows up all over.  For me the most successful piece from this series of prints is the blown up foil titled "Bed sheets".

Bed sheets
25 1/2"x 11"
8 1/2"x 11"
8 1/2"x 11"

8 1/2"x 11"
I wanted this one to be at the top of the post but I some how messed it up (not a surprise)

A few pieces from a project about my father

Over the past few months I have been trying to get to know my father as an adult through the artifacts he left behind.  There are more parts to this series, I will scan and post them soon.

"Small Progress"

I did this Photocopy a few months ago.  I have about 10 like it.  My intention was to make a composite of my fathers favorite sweater.  After I got them home I ended up liking the individual copies more than the whole.  I will hopefully be less lazy and scan the rest of them.
This is a Photocopy of my fathers Navel Uniform.  I have titled it "Found in the Basement".

This is a photo album I found in my fathers storage unit a couple of years ago.  I was filling it with small black on black drawings, but I have been less interested in drawing black on black images recently so I utilized it for this project.  On the inside cover it says "Christmas 1901"

On going Collage project

I started this project a while ago.  I made one giant collage in my room about a year and a half ago.  I ended up getting frustrated and tearing it down because I had no idea what I was doing.  I decided to try and make a large print of it by photo copying all the segments when I was trying to document and finish a few pieces.  After I copied the originals I was going to put them altogether for a giant piece, but they ended up looking much better as individuals, and much better than the first messy collages I made.  It took about a year for me to figure this out because my brain is slow like molasses.  I have continued to make collages with the express purpose of  putting them in a book I am composing with the photocopies.  I ended up with two halves of different collages making up each page.  I am not sure how I feel about the whole thing right now, I have been more interested in photocopying objects.  I will most likely finish this years from now.

More collages

Wow more collages!

More collages for that book

Collages for a book (maybe someday)
